Treat yourself to a half-day e-bike excursion to one of the most beautiful locations on the Island of Elba.
You will set off from Capoliveri and ride the first 4 kilometres along the Costa dei Gabbiani, enjoying the beautiful panorama with the islets of Montecristo and the island of Pianosa in the background. You will then arrive at the Mines of Vallone, a place of characteristic charm where men and machines once worked at extracting iron.
You will then descend again towards the sea to reach Tenuta delle Ripalte, where you will make a 30-minute stop to sip some good wine. Finally, you will climb back into the saddle and return to your starting point through vineyards and beautiful coastal stretches. We are waiting for you!
We will meet in the locality of Naregno in Capoliveri. We will find the guide waiting for us, who will accompany us along the route. Before fastening our helmets and climbing into the saddle, we will listen to the guide’s short briefing. Afterwards, we will start cycling 4 kilometres along the Costa dei Gabbiani.
We will ride along the eastern part of the coast of the Island of Elba, characterised by high cliffs overlooking the sea and enchanting coves. The coast owes its name to the presence of the herring gull, a magnificent specimen that lives and nests in this part of the island. Along the way we will enjoy a truly exceptional panorama, with the islets of Montecristo and the island of Pianosa in the background.
We will then reach the Vallone Mines, where men and machines were once at work extracting iron. The mine is no longer in operation and retains a special charm, made unique by the white beach where the minerals, often beautiful, have accumulated over the years. It is no coincidence that the mine is visited by many mineral enthusiasts in search of azurite, malachite, garnets and more.
After stopping at the mine, we will descend towards the sea and follow a path that runs along the mountain until we reach the Tenuta delle Ripalte. The path is not difficult because we will find stretches of asphalt and beaten dirt road.
Once at the estate, we will take a well-deserved 30-minute break, during which we will sip good wine from the estate’s cellar (not included). We will then climb back into the saddle to ride through the vineyards and come out onto a road that runs alongside the sea. We will then return to our starting point and enjoy an unforgettable seascape.
The excursion lasts a total of 4 hours.
The activity is suitable for everyone. Bikes for children from 9 years of age with a minimum height of 140 cm can be hired.
Children can also participate, for whom free child seats are provided. It is, however, a good idea to inform the guide in advance of the presence of children so that the availability of child seats can be checked.
The excursion is available all year round and is confirmed with a minimum number of participants of 5.
For those who wish, there is the possibility of sipping a glass of Tenuta delle Ripalte‘s rosé, considered one of the 10 best wines in Italy. This option has an additional cost of €8.
